Tip Prompt Not Showing Up on POS - for payment pending orders

We are experiencing a weird restriction with the Shopify POS. For some reason, the shopify POS doesn’t give the option to prompt a tip to customers when we checkout a “payment pending” or “payment due later” order. For example, we create a draft order for a customer who’s coming into the clinic later, it’s marked as “due later”. When the customer comes in and has their treatment, the staff can check out the customer from their order on the POS, but the tip prompt is skipped. So staff don’t have an easy way to offer the tip option (besides adding a custom item) Apparently this tip prompt on “payment pending orders” is not a feature yet available with shopify pos, but wondered if anyone else has found a different solution to be able to have the tip prompt show up on the POS when checking out a customer on a payment pending order?
