This is an important channel for our business model. Recently, we received a request to update the UX of the app to meet the Build for Shopify standards. We have worked tirelessly and gone through 3-4 rounds of updates and reviews, with the last round having very few issues, and we completed it in 3 hours.
However, the Shopify review team has not responded to us further, and the deadline to maintain this title is May 30, 2026 - which is in 2 days. We have been waiting for a review for a week now and are extremely worried.
We have sent an email urging them to review because we know there are probably very few issues left with the app, but they still have not responded. What should we do?
Sorry you’re stuck. I’ve been through this cycle a few times. A few things that have actually moved the needle for me:
Reply directly in the review thread inside Partner Dashboard with a screen recording of the fixes. Reviewers often miss the comment-only update but a Loom or short MP4 gets attention.
Email partners@shopify.com with your app handle, the BFS submission ID, and the date of last reviewer response. Keep it short. They have an internal triage for stuck reviews.
The Shopify Developers Discord has a #partners channel where reviewers occasionally lurk. Posting a non-pushy “hey, anyone seen review SLAs slip past 10 days recently?” usually surfaces someone helpful.
If you have a Shopify Partner Manager assigned (apps with revenue usually do), ping them. They can escalate internally faster than the public channel.
The deadline pressure is the worst part. From what I’ve seen, BFS deadlines themselves are not strict if there’s an open back-and-forth with the review team. Document everything in the thread so if it slips past the deadline it’s clearly on review-side delay, not yours. Good luck.
Glad it helped. The Build for Shopify back-and-forth can stall for weeks, so don’t read silence as a rejection. If it goes quiet again, a short Loom walking through the exact UX change usually gets a faster response than another written message.
Good luck getting Navi+ through, feel free to ping me if you hit another wall.
