I would like to know what the top 5 common issues most stores have when it comes to low conversion rates, and how you improve or fix those issues.
Hii,
Most stores struggle with the same core issues when conversions are low.
Slow Product Page Loading (especially on mobile) If the page takes more than 3 seconds to load, users drop off before even seeing your product.
Compress assets, reduce unused scripts, improve LCP.
Use a speed tool to automate these improvements so the user sees your product faster.
Weak Product Value Clarity Visitors don’t instantly understand why your product is worth buying.
Make the first 3 - 4 seconds count: strong headline, clear benefits, trust elements.
Add real photos, short bullets, and highlight what makes your product better.
Checkout Drop-Off (Trust gaps) People add to cart but leave when they don’t feel ready to trust the store.
Add trust badges, delivery clarity, returns policy, and payment icons near the ATC button and checkout.
Keep shipping info transparent.
Low Mobile Usability Buttons shift, images overflow, text is too big/small leading to frustration.
Test your site on a real phone.
Simplify sections, reduce big images, keep spacing clean, and make the ATC button always visible.
Wrong Traffic / Misaligned Expectations Ads bring visitors who aren’t ready to buy, or landing pages don’t match ad messaging.
Make ad creatives clearly match product value.
Use warm audiences, retargeting, and interest-based segmentation.
If you’d like help improving the speed and mobile experience which directly boosts conversions, you can take a look into the Website Speedy App it automatically improves your store’s load time and Core Web Vitals, which usually increases conversions from the traffic you already have.
@Kechgroup it’s hard to generalize a “top 5 issues” list because there are way more nuances than that.
What I can tell you after running 500+ controlled experiments is that about 70% of the changes we introduce don’t move the needle at all. So whenever someone tells you there’s a checklist that’ll magically skyrocket your conversions… they probably haven’t been running controlled experiments.
In my experience, as long as you’re using a decent Shopify template that loads fast, the elements most likely to influence behavior are:
-
How you communicate your value proposition
-
What imagery you use to show how your product changes customers’ lives
-
Whether you have return policies or guarantees (and how clearly you communicate them)
It’s not really about UX/UI tweaks. It’s about words and images that help people understand what they’re missing out on.
This might be disappointing to hear, but our experience at Speero has shown that just changing visual elements without addressing the core messaging is unlikely to move the needle.
Hope it helps!
