Tracking events with JS event listeners

Hello, I am the Pixel Specialist for Reddit’s SMB sector. We have a high concentration of Shopify advertisers that don’t have code knowledge. Reddit doesn’t have an app or a “smart pixel” as I’ve heard it called, so you have to have the know how to place the JS in the right places My own code knowledge is still improving. I’ve tried a few event listeners that work for some themes and not for others. I’m wondering if anyone does this kind of work pretty normally and would be willing to help me understand their process. The 8 Reddit tag events are Page Visit, View Content, Search, Add to Cart, Add to Wishlist, Purchase, Lead and Sign Up.

Thank you,

Braxton Floyd

Definitely follow Shopify’s new Custom Events/Pixels section. It is the way forward to do all of those events you mentioned. The feature has been problematic in the past: https://twitter.com/digital_darts/status/1590230502950473728

Hey Josh, are you saying the Custom Events section has been problematic?
I’ve briefly explored that option, but what I don’t yet understand is the proper way to tell each Reddit tag when to fire. I’m assuming build event listeners, but I was trying that and having trouble. Do you have any examples of event listeners you have used?
