Guys, I am confused why did my developer chose Trade… I have a jewelry website 108creations.com (not wholesale). I did not see anyone using Trade for retail sales… I am kinda frustrated now. Because I know it is hard to change theme with saving all customizations. I would really appreciate all recommendations.
Topic summary
Main issue: A store owner questions why their developer chose the Trade theme (vs. Dawn) for a retail jewelry site (108creations.com), worrying Trade may be less suited for retail and that switching themes could risk losing customizations.
Context: Shopify themes are templates controlling store design and features. The owner was new to Shopify when development began and is now reassessing fit as they learn more.
Actions/updates: The owner shared their site link multiple times for feedback. After receiving community replies, they acknowledged the guidance (“Sound good actually!”) and thanked respondents.
Outcomes/decisions: No explicit decision recorded about keeping Trade or switching to Dawn. The owner’s stated goals are to build a functional, attractive site, increase sales, and encourage repeat customers.
Status: Partially addressed. The owner appears more reassured by the feedback but has not confirmed a final theme decision.
Notes: The linked site (108creations.com) is central for evaluating theme suitability.
