We have been trying to transfer ownership of our store for a week now. We keep getting an error that says “you have an active Balance account. To transfer ownership, please transfer out any funds in Balance and contact Shopify Support”. We have no funds in the Balance account, and have contacted support.
So far, we have contacted Shopify support on three separate occasions, and after a week, have ZERO answers. The Shopify advisors can only say, “someone will email you”. They give no timeline, no updates or answers. They only thing they can tell us after an entire week is that “someone will email you”. It’s shocking how terrible the support for this issue has been, and had I known that such a serious issue would be handled so poorly, we would have chosen a different platform for our site.
