Hi there,

I am currently working on a new website to replace an old Squarespace website which uses a WEEBLY domain and need help transferring over the domain name to the new Shopify website.

I’m really struggling with this process so would really like some guidance through it. I’m also wondering if it would be more beneficial to deactivate my weebly account with the domain name so it can free up the domain through Shopify and just stick to doing everything through Shopify - what would be best do you think?

Also, I think our weebly domain is connect to Google Workspaces and is used for the majority of our email addresses, I’m not sure if deactiving weebly means I would have to set up a whole new way for us to continue using our email domains or not? Please advise.

Anyway I am really struggling to understand and know what is best, please help me as soon as possible as I really need to get this website out (as I’ve somehow managed to deactivate it from Squarespace and now have no website available which means I can’t make sales, which means I can’t make enough to pay my wages ;a;)

You will need to manually your third party domain to your Shopify account. Edit your DNS record by going to your third party domain provider account. If you are not comfortable editing your DNS settings, reach out to your domain provider so, they can connect it on their end.

I think u shouldnt deactive your Weebly account yet. If your Google Workspace emails are linked to Weebly’s DNS (domain settings), deactivating the account could disrupt email functionality. Instead, transfer control of your domain to Shopify or another registrar while keeping email uninterrupted.
