It’s exciting to hear that you’re planning to open an additional store on Shopify. I’d love to hear some more about your existing business and your new idea! Of course, I’m also happy to answer the questions you have and I’ll start with those:
Every new account on Shopify starts off on a free trial period. So, if you open a brand new Shopify account, you’ll get the full 14-day free trial for that account. You can sign up for the free trial for your new account from our pricing and plans page.
Some things can be exported/imported to help ease the process of transferring data from one Shopify account to another. This means that you’ll be able to get some work done on your existing store, but there are still some areas that will need to be set up manually on the new one. Our Help Center page on backups and duplication goes over the data that can be exported and kept as a backup. Not everything that can be exported can be imported however, such as orders, settings and financial data. You will be able to import products though, and if you design a theme for your new account on the old one, you can export/import that as well as long as it’s not a theme that was paid for. Paid themes are only eligible for use on the account they were purchased on. When it comes to your pages, those can’t be exported/imported, but if you save the content for them on your previous store, or on an offline document, you can then copy/paste the content into pages on your new account.

Also, a cool thing to note about having two stores is that if they’re associated with the same email address, then you can switch between the two stores to work on either one when logged in. Once both stores are created and are both under the same email address, you can click on the store name in the top left of your admin to access the store switcher and switch between them.
