While the “Transfers” mechanism can be used to indicate a product is coming from a vendor to a store location, or between two store locations, it can not currently be used to send products back to the vendor. That would be extremely helpful–especially if it would total the items being sent back, include the cost of the items, and allow you to print a packing slip.
Hey @CarlaIrv .
Hope you are doing great!
Shopify does not support vendor returns natively.
You can use Inventory Planner or Linnworks, both of which handle reserve transfer with cost total and printable packing slips.
Hey @CarlaIrv …
Just a heads up on this… I’m actually going to be introducing this feature in FyreTrail this coming week for our Purchase Orders. It’s something that our store needs and now I have requests from other stores to add this in. Would love your feedback on this process both in preparing it and then once it’s been released. Let me know if you’re interested. Here’s a link to FyreTrail if you’re at all interested in being a part of making it happen:
Hi there @CarlaIrv
A pragmatic solution is to consider vendor returns as reverse procurement flow. If you are on Pos Pro, you can create a draft order or purchase order in Stocky for the returned quantities to represent the returned quantities, this will provde you with totals and costed inventory values. Then do a transfer out to a vendor holding location for tracking, adjust inventory. For documentation and packing slips use Order Printer templates linked to your draft order or an returns app that supports RMA workflows and vendor return labels. This preserves clean reporting without the use of standard transfers.
