Translate & Adapt app - not all words appear

Topic summary

Missing navigation menu items in the Shopify Translate & Adapt app prevent some words from being translated, even when searched. The store uses the Impulse theme.

Cause/update:

  • Product team confirms a Shopify-side limit of 100 navigation items shown in the app. A fix is in progress.

Workaround (CSV export/import):

  • Go to Settings > Languages > Export to download the language CSV (spreadsheet file).
  • In the CSV, translate menu-related rows: look for ‘LINK’ in Column A for individual menu items and ‘ONLINE_STORE_MENU’ for menu titles.
  • Delete rows for other resource types if not needed, then re-upload only the edited CSV to apply translations.

Other notes:

  • A participant asked if support had been contacted; the official product response provided the above workaround.

Status/outcome:

  • Practical workaround provided; underlying 100-item limit is being addressed by Shopify. No confirmation yet from the original poster that this resolved their issue, so the thread may remain open pending user feedback.

Can anyone help?

I am using Impulse Theme

Hi @TBS2022

Have you contacted their support team yet?

Hi there, Rich from the product team here. If you have a lot of navigation items, it’s possible that they are not showing in the app as there is currently a limitation on the Shopify side of 100 items. This is being fixed, but in the mean time you can download the CSV.

Go to Settings > Languages

Export

In a spreadsheet editor, you’ll all your translatable resources. You want ‘LINK’ in Column A for menu items, and ONLINE_STORE_MENU for menu titles. You can delete any rows you don’t need, e.g. of other resource types, and only upload what you need.

This should solve the problem.

Best wishes,

Rich
