Hi!
After an uninstall and later reinstall of Shopifys Translate & Adapt app, the language selector in the theme editor disappeared, and now I can’t manually translate any of the pages directly in the theme editor. This really puts a dent in our work since the content on the homepage doesn’t appear in the Translate & Adapt app either, you can only do an autotranslate of it, but that translation isn’t perfect and need alot of adjustment.
I Know this is a common bug when uninstalling the app, that it looses connection with the theme editor, but has anyone found a workaround, or a way to reestablish the connection? I would hate to have to create a whole new store from the ground up just to get that function back.
Thanks for any help, support or assistans the community can offer.
Hi! You don’t need to rebuild the store, this usually happens because Translate & Adapt disconnects from the theme after uninstalling.
Quick fixes to try:
Re-publish the current theme (even if it’s already live)
Duplicate the theme and publish the duplicate
Check Settings → Markets → Languages and make sure all languages are enabled
Reinstall Translate & Adapt, then hard-refresh the theme editor (or open it in incognito)
Also, homepage content often doesn’t appear in Translate & Adapt if the theme uses hardcoded sections, those translations live in the theme locale files instead.
If none of this works, Shopify Support can manually reattach the app to the theme (known bug).
Okay, I have checked several of these, but I will try a republish with the duplicate. How do you do a hard-refresh of the editor?
And thank you so much for the quick respons
