I am dropshipping from China using Oberlo/AliExpress. Some of the suppliers have product images with the product information only in Chinese writing, with little or no information in the “Specifications” tag for importing. Without having to ask the supplier for translation on a whole lot of products, does anybody know of a way I can translate to English. Any help would be appreciated.

That’s a great question.
To have a successful business, you need to find a reliable supplier. With thousands of sellers and products on AliExpress, I would recommend searching for a different supplier that provides more information on their products. If you can’t find the same products in others, the best action is to reach out to that supplier and ask for more information. That way, you will also gauge their responsiveness.
That said, it’s also a good idea to buy sample products from your suppliers before uploading them to your online store to make sure you’re happy with the quality of the product and the supplier’s service.
If you decide to move along, here are the data points you should factor into your product selection process:
Star Ratings and Review Counts
This statistic will help you gauge how reliable the current star rating is. For example, if you see a product with five stars after 100 reviews, you can assume that it’s high quality. However, this doesn’t mean that products with fewer reviews are unreliable. Overall the star ratings and review counts will help you understand how products resonate with your target audience.
Supplier Feedback and Longevity
While you want to see a high rating in all aspects, the most critical rating is Items as Described. If you choose a supplier that ships products quickly, provides excellent communication, and sells low-quality products, your customer won’t be happy. This might lead to refunds, chargebacks, and disputes with your payment gateway.
Also, AliExpress Top Brand suppliers are high-performing and verified suppliers by the AliExpress platform. These suppliers also provide excellent support service and sell top-quality products. You can identify a Top Brand supplier by the Top Brand badge:

Thank you for your reply. I have reached out to the supplier for a couple of the products.
Unfortunately buying samples is out of the question for me. I do try to use suppliers that are over 95% positive feedback.

You can use Google Translate to convert those descriptions into English. You’ll need to edit them afterward to make sure that it all makes sense and add some personal and custom descriptions.
