Transparent header not working across all pages?

Topic summary

Transparent header works on the home page, but on other pages the logo overlaps page headings. The goal is to prevent overlap and/or show a different header style off the home page.

Theme context: Shopify Dawn 2. The poster notes they don’t see .css or .scss files and only have theme.liquid; adding code there didn’t solve the issue. (CSS/SCSS are stylesheet files; theme.liquid is a layout/template file.)

Requested outcome: Keep a transparent header on the home page, but have a normal black header on all other pages.

References provided: Home page and About page URLs to illustrate the issue.

Status: No fix or instructions shared yet; the issue remains open.

Unanswered questions:

  • How to conditionally set header background per page in Dawn 2 (e.g., transparent on home, solid on other pages)?
  • Where to correctly add styles or theme settings if .css/.scss files are not visible in this setup?

Hi,

Please can anyone give some advice

I have managed to get my header transparent on my home page which looks good but when I click other links the logo overlays the headings.

How can I eliminate this? I am using Dawn 2 theme

Eg. https://www.generationaudio.co.uk/pages/about

Home page: https://www.generationaudio.co.uk/

Thanks in advance

@AshaSkiander_2

thanks but the dawn 2 theme doesn’t have .css or .scss

It only has theme.liquid but doesn’t work when I add it here.

Is there a way of having a normal black header on all pages except for the home page? I think it would look better like this
