Trekkie no longer loads pixels after switching to custom domain

Hey,

we’ve been running our shop (bloxbox.de) through Shopify since the beginning of this year. Before Oct 2nd, we had a complicated reverse proxy setup, so that we were able to have custom URLS such as “/kundenmotive/CODE” for custom customer products, since we had those kind of URLs before we switched to Shopify, and we didn’t want to break things.

That resulted in an issue where customers were sent over to our actual .myshopify.com domain on checkout, causing issues with tracking. So I decided to set bloxbox.de as the actual, primary domain, and update the DNS records accordingly, which worked fine.

But ever since then, we do not see any user events on any platforms (facebook, google analytics, tiktok). I noticed that trekkie does not seem to load any external scripts from any of these platforms.

I also just tried putting the shop into maintenance mode and installing a fresh, clean “Dawn” theme, making sure our custom theme is not the problem. Even with the Dawn theme, the issue persisted.

Is there some kind of internal cache / setting at Shopify that could cause this? Unfortunately I was unable to dig into the trekkie code, as it’s minified.

We really need tracking to work ASAP, as Christmas sales are coming up…

Apparently, the cookie banner plugin we used (iSenselabs) had issues with changing the main domain and therefore was not working properly. Since our privacy settings were strict, no cookies were loaded at all. I re-installed the cookie banner plugin and it works fine again.
