Tried to upgrade to GA4 but unable to connect Google Account - Access blocked Authorisation Error

I tried to upgrade to GA4 and went into my Shopify account > Online Store > Preferences > manage pixels. When I tried to use my Google Account to connect, it says “Access Blocked: Authorisation Error”

This app has reached its sign-in rate limit for now.

Google limits how quickly an app can get new users. You can try signing in again later, or ask the developer to increase this app’s sign-in rate limit.

If you are the developer for this app, you can request a sign-in rate limit increase.

If you are a developer of this app, see error details
Error 403: rate_limit_exceeded

I have cleared cache, restarted my comp and signed in via the same gmail account on Chrome. However, it does not work. Please advise as I have 30 days to complete this upgrade.

Hello @SnackG

The error message that you are getting is telling you that the app has reached its sign-in rate limit. This means that the app has tried to sign in too many times in a short period of time. Google limits how quickly an app can get new users to prevent abuse.

There are a few things that you can do to try to fix this issue:

  1. The sign-in rate limit is usually temporary, so you may be able to sign in again later.
  2. Sometimes, cached data can interfere with the sign-in process. Try clearing your cache and cookies and then signing in again.
  3. If you are using Chrome, try using a different browser, such as Firefox or Safari.
  4. If you have tried all of the above and you are still having trouble, you can contact Shopify support for help.

Thanks for this! Yes, indeed it was temporary (about an hour) but it worked and that’s all that matters :slightly_smiling_face:
