I use Shopify for taking orders for my pizza business. I set up each trading day as a free product with variants for the collection time - for instance “Thu 2 Dec” is the product and “Collect at 7:00pm” is a variant of that product. The customer chooses the day and time they want to collect their order and then adds the pizzas and side dishes to the basket and checks out.
I want to drive sales mid-week when we sell less and would like to set up a “Buy X get Y” auto discount triggered when the customer has a specific day in the basket (in this example its Thu 2 Dec).
While The back-end allows me to see this up it appears that because the Day/time product has no monetary value the discount isn’t applied. If I change the rule to be triggered by any other product that has a £ value it works fine.
Can anyone help? I really don’t want to have to shell out on a monthly app fee
