Trouble accessing my Shopify store

I am having trouble accessing my shopify account. Its showing up as active under my email, but when I try to log in its say that my account has been deactivated and the other message that I got was that it has been suspended.

Hi @ShaundaHUD462

If your Shopify account is showing as active under your email but you’re getting deactivation or suspension messages, here’s what you can do:

  1. Check for emails from Shopify – Look for any emails regarding suspension, policy violations, or payment issues. Shopify usually provides a reason for deactivation.
  2. Try a different browser or device – Clear cache and cookies or use incognito mode to rule out browser issues.
  3. Reset your password – If there’s a login issue, try resetting your password to ensure it’s not an authentication problem.
  4. Check for outstanding payments – If your subscription payment failed, Shopify may have temporarily suspended your account.

Since suspensions can happen for various reasons, reaching out to Shopify Support is the best way to resolve this quickly.

Hi,

This is Richard at PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder app.

This is a critical situation, and you need to act quickly. Receiving conflicting messages about your account being “deactivated” and “suspended” indicates a serious problem. Here’s a breakdown of how to address this:

1. Understand the Potential Reasons:

  • Account Suspension:
    • Shopify can suspend accounts for various reasons, including:
      • Violation of their Terms of Service (e.g., selling prohibited items, fraudulent activity).
      • Payment disputes or excessive chargebacks.
      • Security concerns (e.g., suspicious login activity).
      • Problematic business practices.
  • Account Deactivation:
    • This typically occurs when you or someone with access to your account manually deactivates it.
    • It can also happen if Shopify deactivates an account due to prolonged inactivity or other policy violations.
  • Technical Glitches:
    • While less likely, there could be a temporary technical glitch on Shopify’s end.
  • Phishing or Hacking:
    • It is possible that your account has been compromised.

2. Immediate Actions:

  • Contact Shopify Support Immediately:
    • This is your top priority. Use every available channel:
      • Phone support (if available).
      • Live chat.
      • Email support.
    • Explain the situation clearly and provide them with:
      • Your store’s URL.
      • Your account email address.
      • The exact error messages you’re receiving.
    • Demand to speak with a human support agent, and that the issue be escalated.
  • Document Everything:
    • Take screenshots of all error messages.
    • Save any email correspondence with Shopify.
    • Record the dates and times of all communication.
  • Check Your Email for Notifications:
    • Carefully review your email inbox (including spam/junk folders) for any notifications from Shopify.
    • They may have sent you an email explaining the reason for the suspension or deactivation.
  • Verify Your Email Security:
    • Change your email password immediately.
    • Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your email account.
    • Scan your computer for malware.

Hoping my solution helps you solve your problem.

Best regards,
