I am on Shopify Plus using a Mac with Excel and the EZ CSV import app.
I am trying to use the Shopify template to upload products but am running into errors.
It looks like Shopify is trying to create 7 products instead of 1 product with 7 variants.
I contacted Shopify support on this and they did try to help me, but there were limited in that when they opened my CSV in google sheets, additional lines were being created between each variant. I was getting this error before I started using the EZ CSV import app, but after using that app, that error resolved and instead i got the error in the attached report.
I can only attach the csv on this post so I will attach the error reporting and the resulting 7 products on a following post.
I would appreciate any advice as I would really like to make this work.

Have you tried using the Matrixify app? I’m told it’s much easier to use and doesn’t have issues with special characters in text.
I appreciate the suggestion, but we are already paying a lot for Shopify Plus and paying for another app does not seem like the right solution here.I am very much hoping this simply requires a tweak to my csv.
Have you created any products with variants using the user interface? Try exporting your Products list and look at those.

Interestingly enough, the columns for PUBLISH, GIFT CARD & STATUS in my export file had empty cells for the variants (i attached it here). But alas, when I deleted that info from my import file, those blank fields caused an error.
I do believe this issue is likely due to using mac excel and that my csv is semicolon divided instead of comma. To work around this, I tried saving as MS DOS Comma Separated, and while the error no longer pertains to an empty line, Shopify still seems to think I am uploading 7 products instead of 1 product with 7 variants, as the resulting error is Validation Failed: Title can’t be blank. The same error repeats for line 3-7.
