Trying to add a second default page but it edits the first one

Hello! I am trying to add one more page to my top nav using the Dawn theme. I have one nav page, my How To page, that is using the “Default” page (my options are Default and Contact when choosing the type of page). I want to add one more page that I can edit and use as my FAQ page. When I use the default page as my FAQ page and edit it to add my content it edits the How To page to look like the FAQ page and vise versa. I am sure this is an easy thing to figure out but I can’t seem to track down how to do it. I am already using my Policies page for my privacy policy.

Thanks for any direction here!

David

@SmartLabels ,
Create new page template by duplicating the default, if you’re using OS 2.0 theme then it will be a simple process. Which theme you’re using?

I am using the Dawn theme that was there when I signed up. I was able to download the Dawn 2.0 version and I was able to create the FAQ page without affecting the How To page but it looks like I would have to redesign the whole website again on the 2.0 version which is time I really don’t have. I can’t seem to find a way to update my current Theme with all the work I have already done into the 2.0 version. Any thoughts?

@SmartLabels ,
Any version of Dawn theme is OS 2.0 no need to update if your issue is fixed.

Hi Muhammad! Your answer led me to figure it out. The problem was that after I used the drop down at the top of the page to create a new “Page” template located in the “Customize” section for the website I didn’t realize I then needed to go to the “Pages” section on my Shopify dashboard to create the page and use the new FAQ template as the page type. Once I did that I was able to add it to my top nav.

Thanks so much for all your help! The process is not super intuitive and wouldn’t have figured it out without you.

Thanks again!
David
