Basically, I would like to have an image for the thumbnail on the collections page, then when you click into that collection I would like to be able to have a different header image. Right now, when you’re editing the collection, you add the collection image and it applies to both. I know you can shut it off of showing on the top of the collection, but then it’s just the name and description, but I’d like a custom image header there instead. I’ve seen that this can be done with code, but I don’t code. Is there anyway to get around this? My theme is Empire.
Topic summary
Goal: Use one image as the collection thumbnail on the collections (grid) page and a different image as the header/banner on the individual collection page.
Current behavior: The single “collection image” set in the editor is reused for both thumbnail and header. You can disable showing it on the collection page, but then only the collection name and description appear—no custom header image.
Constraints: The requester does not code and is using the Empire theme. They’ve seen code-based solutions but want a no-code workaround.
Request: Guidance on how to set a custom header image per collection without using code (or an alternative built-in/theme setting approach).
Status: No resolution or suggested method provided yet; assistance requested and the question remains open.
