I want to make some changes to the code for my website to reassign h2 tags and/or remove some like the ones that automatically attach to “add to cart” etc. I’ve done the research on how to do it and did the “inspect” thing but when I go to edit code through layout/theme.liquid what I see doesn’t look anything like the code I see when I inspect the site. What am I missing?! I know very little about coding but I have made a few subtle changes before and the code I could see looked more like when I see in the html inspect. HELP! shopify dawn theme. I can’t find any h1 or h2 tags anywhere, the code i can see looks very sparse compared to the html code i see when I “inspect” the site.
it seems like this js or json thing is what is the difference. I really don’t know what that means but how to I get back to my standard html code edits?
Hi @mokuzai
The image you took is from the theme.liquid file, but when you use F12 to check, it includes multiple other files. From the theme.liquid, it links to smaller files, so they won’t see the full code in the image they captured.
Please clarify where you want to add or edit the H2 tag on the store. If you provide the store link, we can help locate it for you.
Best,
Daisy
