This is an add on but the price changes with the sizing—- Dawn theme please. How does this work?
I have same variant structure set up currently as 2 variants sorting by size then by style and it shows as pillbox choices—- But I like this as an optional add on– So much clearer for the customer and it tells them how much extra the frame is from the print rather than bundling the price into one cost. Please someone direct me! Thanks!

Your basically asking people to guess what a car sounds like from an image.
Provide a publicly inspectable URL.
It could be an app , custom app, or custom design who knows.

The sample sites upsell has code that looks very specific so looks custom , but the structure does NOT work with javascript disabled, so could be a mix ; or an oversight.
But there is indication of an upsell app being used for ?something? just not 100% it’s for simple addons.

It’s not about technical ability it’s about communicating what you know to others without prompting just because it’s online and digital.
A customer asks you for a product are you going to link to the homepage and make them dig, or give them the link to the product you have in your browser.
Why would you treat strangers differently.
You wouldn’t wordlessly show such a photo to someone on the street without context or making them dig it out of you. Or send it in a letter without context around the world.
Poor communication will BURN money and time.
It’s a skill that literally makes or breaks new businesses take it seriously the forums are a graveyard of businesses that didn’t.

You can actually do that with Easify Product Options — it lets you show different add-ons (like matching frame sizes) based on the size your customer selects.
For example, if they choose a 12x18 print, the app can automatically display the 12x18 frame add-on, and if they pick 18x24, it’ll show the 18x24 frame instead. You can also set different extra prices for each frame size so customers can clearly see how much the add-on costs.

Thank you for sharing this. I will definitely try it. This is what I asked and actually paid someone to do- not realizing there was an app. But they did not do it- they gave me the add on as a fixed price rather than a variant. Shame on me for paying someone to do this….

You can do this with a product options app that supports conditional or add-on pricing such as Product Options by Bold or Infinite Options. Make the frame an optional add-on with price modifications. This allows you to keep your main variant pricing separate and clearly highlight extra charges to your customers.

That setup is done with a product options/add-on app, not Shopify’s default variants.
Dawn can’t change the add-on price based on the selected size unless you use an app.
A few apps that do this really well:
Bold Product Options
Globo Product Options
Infinite Options (ShopPad)
These let you keep your size/style variants normal, and add an optional “Add a frame” charge that updates depending on the main size. That’s why the example looks so clean.

This all sounds good. I will take time to thoroughly look into and test these other apps first. I actually paid a developer on this board to give me what you all are indicating but he did not give me the variant type price increase - only a simple add on -then wanted more money to add the price increase with the product feature. So I’m a bit cautious.
