Hi! I’m running the Virgo theme for our store and Adarts is no longer answering support tickets. My big issue is that I can’t get collection descriptions to show up on the collection/category pages. I want this up for SEO purposes. I can enter text on the back end but it doesn’t show up on the site. I’m assuming I need to add code somewhere, but I have no idea where to start. Please help? Thank you!
Hi @Allyoops ,
Hope you are doing well. You can edit the code for your theme.
Please follow these steps:
-
From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes > Select your theme.
-
Click Actions > Edit code.
-
Find the file name “collection-template.liquid” in the sections folder so you can add this snippet to where you want to set it.
{% if collection.description != blank %}
{{ collection.description }}
{% endif %}
If you can’t do that, you can add me as a staff. I’ll check it for you.
Hey @LitExtension - Thank you so much for the response! The notification got buried so I’m just seeing this. I tried your fix but it didn’t work - I’m 100% sure it’s user error on my part, because I have no idea what I’m doing. I’m not sure when in the template to insert the code, but I tried several things and the category description still isn’t showing up when I preview the changes.
I’m happy to hire someone to help, I just want to get this stupid thing fixed.
