TWINT not showing at checkout for Swiss customers

Hi everyone,

I’m based in Germany and want to offer TWINT for my Swiss customers. I’ve enabled TWINT in Shopify, but it still refuses to appear at checkout. I’ve already:

  • Set up the Switzerland market

  • Configured currency, duties, and taxes

  • Activated Shopify Payments (Germany)

  • Activated TWINT within Shopify Payments

  • Tested checkout using a VPN set to Switzerland

Even with all of that, TWINT just doesn’t show up. pure-verde.de

Has anyone experienced this or knows what else I should check?

If you have a Stripe account, apply to the third party solution “Shopify Stripe Checkout”.

Unfortunately there is no proper solution for Twint in Shopify Payments. I had to change my store currency to CHF und use Mollie for Twint.

I don’t know why Twint is blocking Shopify Payments for non Swiss shops. Shopify can’t tell either and give concrete answers.

Thank you for you quick reply. Actually I am running a swiss shop in switzerland with CHF, and fulfill all the requirements yet it is not shown. I contacted human support from shopify, no concrete answers either :sweat_smile:

If you have a Stripe account that supports TWINT, try EasyPie Checkout.

Nope. They say they are investigating. I may push them a bit next week.

A circumvent is to use the app developed by twint. It is also developed by a third party but certified by TWINT officially, collecting minimum data. They charge an annual fee and commission though.

I don’t want to use this app. So currently I dropped TWINT. I will give an update here if Shopify has any progress on this matter.

Hi everyone, I would like to give an update. Shopify solved my problem and activated TWINT a few days ago. So it works now. I did not do much after communicating with them the problem. It took them 3 weeks but now I have TWINT without using a third-party app. I encourage you to contact them if you face similar problems
