If I do not choose to set up two step payment authentification will I still be able to manually accept payments?
Hey @jadeheaven !
This applies only to Shopify Payments. Other payment methods such as Cash, Bank Transfer or third-party gateways i.e PayPal can still be used without 2SA.
Is there any reason why you wouldn’t want to enable Two-Step Authentication (2SA)? This is to increase account security and prevent account takeover by fraudsters, resulting in stolen payouts.
Enabling Two-Step Authentication can prevent 99.9% of account compromises as most breaches are caused by lost or stolen account information. Adding this extra layer of security will reduce the likelihood of a compromised account resulting in payouts being redirected to fraudulent bank accounts.

Yes…there is a reason why some of us do not want to bow to your overlord ways. Shopify tells us that turning it on prevents others from stealing payments, but if we do not bow, Shopify will steal our payments. Does that make any sense?
Looks like I will be finding a new eCommerce company and completely rebuilding my customer stores from scratch in 3 days.
