I’m raising this here because my previous support case (handled by Bhanu Dubey) was closed without resolution, even though the problem remains active and is causing operational issues.
Summary of the issue:
UK checkouts on Shopify are missing essential address fields — specifically, there’s no dedicated “County” field, and the address order is incorrect (the house name/number appears after the road name instead of before). This results in:

Failed or flagged addresses during checkout

Shipping label generation errors

Poor customer experience due to non-standard UK address formatting
This is not a feature request. It’s a functionality gap affecting Shopify’s compliance with standard UK address formats. For comparison, the US checkout includes proper state fields and address logic — the same regional parity should apply to UK merchants.
The previous advisor confirmed escalation but I’ve had no update since. I’m requesting that this be reopened or escalated to a technical specialist or product team for investigation.
If other UK merchants are experiencing similar issues, please comment or upvote to help bring this to Shopify’s attention.
The helpdesk was useless and unfortunately for me, a lot of time was wasted.
