Unable to Disable Customer Login on Store Page

Hi Gurus,

Currently, a customer has to login before they are allowed to checkout and I am having trouble disabling this. Under Settings → Checkout → “Require the customer to log in to their account before checkout”, I untick the checkbox but when I try to save I get the “Couldn’t update the settings, try again” error message.

I then tried to go into Settings → Customer Accounts → Accounts in online store and checkout → “Show login link in the header of online store and at checkout”, but even if I untick the checkbox, customers are still required to “login before checkout”. And it then prompted me to go to Settings → Checkout, i.e., the first step above where I am unable to save the settings.

Not sure how to resolve this issue. I have deleted caches and history, used incognito but the issue remains.

Hope someone can help.

How long has this been happening? It might be a temporary admin error. Try again in a couple hours and see if the error continues. If it does, contact Shopify support directly and they can investigate further.

Ok I contacted the support team and it was a known bug. They have fixed it and all is good now.
