Hi everyone,
I’m running into an issue when trying to publish a post on Instagram with tagged products from my Shopify store. Details below:
All products have already been successfully synced from Shopify to Instagram Shop (I can see them in my Instagram catalog).
When I create a new Instagram post and tag the products, everything looks fine — but at the final step, it shows an error and the post cannot be published.
I’ve tried multiple times, but the problem persists.
Has anyone experienced this issue before?
Could it be a connection problem between Shopify – Meta Commerce Manager – Instagram?
Or do I need to double-check my business account / catalog settings?
Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
Thanks for sharing the details. Yes, this issue is fairly common when publishing Instagram posts with tagged Shopify products. Here are some possible causes and solutions:
1. Connection Between Shopify and Meta/Instagram
Double-check that your Shopify store is properly connected to your Meta Commerce Manager and that the Instagram account is linked to the correct catalog.
Sometimes reconnecting Shopify to Facebook/Instagram in the Sales Channels settings can resolve syncing issues.
2. Business Account & Permissions
Ensure your Instagram account is a Business or Creator account (not personal).
Confirm that your Instagram account has admin access to the Facebook Page linked to your catalog.
3. Catalog & Product Settings
Products must be in stock, have correct pricing, and comply with Meta’s commerce policies.
Make sure the product tags and descriptions don’t violate Instagram’s guidelines.
4. Common Workarounds
Try creating a new Instagram post from a different device or browser.
Sometimes clearing cache or logging out/in of Instagram can help.
If the error persists, you may need to resync the catalog or contact Meta Business Support, as some errors are account-specific on their end.
