Hi, when a customer chooses a product (ex. Kart Body) which has a flat shipping charge based on the price amount, none of the other items placed in kart will have shipping cost added for them even though they are setup to be charged shipping by their weight. Any ideas?

Sorry to hear you’re having some issues with your shipping rates. A few questions to help us troubleshoot together:
- Do you have multiple shipping profiles setup for your different products?
- Can you give me a brief explanation of your products and how you’d like to charge for shipping?
- Are you using any shipping apps from the Shopify App Store?
In order to have different shipping rates for different products, you’ll need to have more than one shipping profile setup. Products can only belong to one shipping profile at a time, which means the shipping rates inside each profile will apply to those specific products. I’d recommend reading our outline on Shipping profiles if you haven’t already.
The other issue here could be how your current shipping rates are being combined (or not combined) at the checkout right now. Our help document on Combined rates at checkout will be really helpful for understanding how this works.
Once we have a little more information, we can troubleshoot this further as well!

As** @Hilary_3 **mentioned that in order to have different shipping rates for different products, you’ll need to have more than one shipping profile setup. So if you want flat rates for some products and weight-based rates for others you can try creating different shipping profiles and set rates accordingly.
