I’m currently facing a disapproval in Google Merchant Center under the Healthcare and Medicine – Prescription Drugs policy. The issue seems to be triggered solely by the word “Growth” in the product title of my shampoo (Mane Growth Cleanse Shampoo). The product is cosmetic-only, contains no prescription ingredients, and my description has been fully revised to meet policy.
How can I keep the product name as-is without triggering this violation? Are there workarounds like using a display name in the Content API or submitting a manual override request?
@Davidjames Thank you for this insight. I have attempted multiple times to
change the description and remove or change the language in the
description. Yes please inform me of any option that can be used to get
around this issue.
That is possible yes, Google’s bot can not read out of context words. Meaning if a specific word could trigger a claim or statement. Such as hair growth, then this is not allowed, even if it’s factually true.
However it sounds like mane, as in a lions mane, ie hair, then the word growth. That you are actually saying hair growth. That will indeed flag Googles anti claim and statement policy. And will not get approved.
What is the actual product name?
The name of the shampoo is Mane Growth Cleanse Shampoo. My product line
itself is Manely Natural, in the context of mane yes like hair and the
ingredients being mainly (Manely) natural.
Does this mean I won’t be able to list this product on Google Merchant
Center?
My reply is only based on what you shared, so from that perspective, yes it’s possible the cause. However, there should be most likely a different issue such as the description or other content on that product page. Check for any claims and statements and consider removing it from the website and feed.
