I’m reaching out here as a last resort after trying multiple times through official channels with no success.
I’m a former Shopify employee and still have the company-issued MacBook from my time there. Since leaving the company, I’ve made repeated attempts to return the device or get assistance unlocking it — emailing HR, the departures team, and others — but I haven’t received any response. In some cases, my messages even bounced back.
Currently, the MacBook is enrolled in Shopify’s Remote Management (MDM), so it boots straight into management mode and I’m unable to use it.
Given the lack of communication and the fact that it seems the device is no longer needed by Shopify after 9 months, I’d really appreciate it if someone from the appropriate team could help me unlock it. Specifically, I need the 6-digit PIN or for the device to be removed from Apple Business Manager so I can use it as a personal device.
If anyone from Shopify’s asset management, IT, or legal/security team sees this — or if anyone knows a reliable way to reach them — your help would mean a lot.
I can share all the details (employee code, macbook serial, DOJ, DOL, etc).
