Unsure Where to Start Troubleshooting, But My Store Does Not Process Orders

Hello, and thanks for doing this AMA! My store has existed for roughly a year, and I have been struggling to make it so that it can process orders. Some quick facts about my business:

  • I have not completed building my website on shopify yet, however, my shopify is linked to my business on my TikTok shop storefront. I got an order on TikTok shop, but it bounced back and never went through.
  • I do not have a point of sale set up yet on shopify
  • Amazon prints and ships my product, so I’ve been trying to integrate my shopify with Amazon. My products are “imported from Amazon” and “linked” in the Amazon Channel - CED. However, I am not able to sell because my product status is “inactive” and there is a product error that reads “The selected function (not sure which function) cannot be performed on this product because it is not fulfilled by merchant (FBM) product.”

Are there more drop-shipping friendly integrations I should be using instead of Amazon Channel - CED to link my production / distribution with Shopify? There’s a few factors here to troubleshoot and prioritize… not sure where to start, or what to prioritize problem-solving first.

I’d recommend simplifying and fixing things step by step instead of trying to solve everything at once:

  • TikTok → Shopify: Recheck “Ship by” setup. Many Zopi users sync orders from TikTok to Shopify and still fulfill normally, as long as the shipping method is set correctly (for dropshipping, use “Shipped by seller”).
  • POS: You can ignore this for now — it doesn’t affect online orders.
  • Amazon (CED issue): If your goal is dropshipping, I’d suggest using a simpler workflow. For example, you can use Zopi Amazon Importer app to import products from Amazon to Shopify, then manage fulfillment in a more dropshipping-friendly way.
