Update a theme without having to redo all customisations?

Hi There,

We updated to Dawn v11 but no customisations come through, requiring us to redo everything.

I realise this nuclear ‘erase and install’ approach has it’s place but having to copy everything over just so you can test and fix any updates adds unnecessary time and work to the update process. Is there a way to setup themes so you don’t have to re-add all customisations?

Sorry if we’re missing something basic. Any pointers much appreciated. Cheers

Yeah if you connect GitHub to your shopify theme. This is the only way to track your changes

Thanks @Hey_Jak , I use Github and can obviously see all alts/commits, but you still have to go through and re-apply the edits to the updated theme - right?

Or is there a way to auto-apply them? Sorry if I’m missing basic!

Are you familiar with themekit? If yes I don’t think you need to do same thing twice.

No I haven’t sorry - Themekit is depreciated right? I’m using Dawn.
