Updating Google Analytics from Universal Analytics to Global Site Tag tracking code

In the Google Analytics preferences I just see a UA account. Shopify is loading an older version of tracking code for universal analytics and isn’t loading the updated Global Site Tag for Google Analytics. How can I update to the Global Site Tag?
