I am writing to seek urgent assistance regarding a persistent issue I have been experiencing with my Shopify store. The problem pertains to a domain mismatch error, specifically:
Alternative names: myshopify.com *.myshopify.com MISMATCH
Despite reaching out to the community multiple times and using different computers and locations (including my phone), the error persists. This issue has also negatively impacted my Google Ads performance, resulting in significant financial loss with no resolution.
Unfortunately, the support provided by Shopify’s customer service has been less than satisfactory, as their AI-driven responses have not addressed my concerns.
I am at a crossroads and considering moving my store to a different platform that offers better support and a more straightforward setup process. However, before making this decision, I wanted to give Shopify one last chance to resolve this issue.
Could someone from the support team please assist me in resolving this domain mismatch error as soon as possible?
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.
Thank you for the screenshot and for sharing those details. This is definitely a difficult issue and I recognize the impact it is having on your online store.
It’s important to note that if the issue is not directly related to the Shopify platform and how we are communicating with your domain, that we will not be able to assist you very much in troubleshooting this problem.
The error message you are showing usually means there is something with your internet network that is blocking your access. If this error is on your home internet connection then I recommend disabling any adblockers and virus protection (temporarily) to see if that resolves the problem. You will also want to contact your internet service provider to see if they are blocking the domain directly themselves.
You mentioned something about a domain mismatch error though, I am not sure what that is referring to. Can you share some more details about this?
Also, if you can provide some screenshots of all your domain’s DNS settings I can help rule out any issues from there.
Thank you for your assistance. However, I would like to clarify that the issue does not appear to be related to antivirus software. As I mentioned previously, I have encountered the error across various computers, browsers, IP addresses, and even on incognito mode on cell phones. This intermittent error suggests that it is not an isolated incident and may affect other users as well. If customers encounter this error, they are unlikely to clear their cache or disable AdBlock; instead, they will likely move on to another website.
Additionally, I am in the process of resetting my SSL certificate to ensure that it is not contributing to the problem.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
To complete some further investigation, could you please share your domains DNS Records with us? Additionally, have you connected with our support team to see if they’re able to replicate the issue? If not, I’d recommend doing so as they will allow them to get you authenticated. We don’t have access to account details here through the Community in order to complete further investigation.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
After taking a closer look, it seems you have multiple CNAME Records currently associated with the domain. Due to this, I’d recommend review those details to ensure only one is pointing to Shopify. This would look like www CNAME record shops.myshopify.com. The remainder of those CNAME’s are not necessary. To learn more about this, please check out this Guide.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Hello, After spending hours with GoDaddy trying to fix the errors we found that everything is on the SSL certificate provided by Shopify, maybe is not well installed or is having issues. We review all the DNS and everything is good.
Here are some pictures from today on one of my computers using incognito and I was able to bring more detailed information. Please look at the pictures.
The best course of action here, would be for you to connect with us directly. This will allow our support team to get you authenticated, as our assistance remains limited here on the Community. They will be able to investigate further and advise on how to proceed.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
