URGENT: Can't connect my Facebook page to Shopify, it's been 3 days

Hello! I tried to fix the issue with 2 technical teams + my marketing team and we still couldn’t find out what is causing the problem. Not even the support team of Shopify or Meta helped us. :slightly_frowning_face:

When using the Facebook & Instagram pixel App, I try to connect to my personal facebook account. It connects me but when I click on the facebook page of my business, the ,connect" button is not working. It is simply not functional and I cannot connect that page to Shopify.

I tried to click that button on my macbook, tried it on windows, my marketing team tried it on their own computer, I tried it incognito mode and it still doesn’t work. I deleted the app and downloaded it again, still didn’t work.

I was even on a call with a Meta employee for 1 hour and she couldn’t tell what was wrong. Shopify support told me that it’s meta’s fault, and meta told me it’s actually Shopify’s error. I keep being sent back and forth and apparently it’s not anybody’s fault. My ads have been stopped for 3 DAYS ALREADY and we are DESPERATE.

We recently migrated from Woocommerce to Shopify. On Woocommerce everything was working and I dont understand why we are facing these issues now. I must mention that we deleted the pixel apps from the old woocommerce store, the ones connecting us to Facebook / google merchant etc. so that is NOT the issue.

Please help us with suggestions, especially if you’ve been in a situation like this before. Maybe it happened to someone else… although everyone told me it’s uncommon and weird.

Thank you!

Hi @Biancai27

This kind of Facebook page connection issue with Shopify’s Facebook & Instagram app is unfortunately quite common and can be caused by a few tricky factors. Based on community reports and best practices, here are some targeted suggestions to try and resolve the problem where the “Connect” button for your Facebook business page is unresponsive:

1. Check for Existing Connections to Other Shopify StoresIf your Facebook page or Instagram account is already connected to another Shopify store, Shopify will block connecting it again.

Verify in your Facebook Business Manager under Business Settings > Accounts > Pages and Instagram Accounts that your page is not linked to another Shopify store.
If it is, disconnect it from the old store before trying again.

2. Remove Redundant Facebook Catalogs and DataOld or duplicate Facebook product catalogs linked to your page can interfere with new connections.

Go to your Facebook Business Manager > Catalog Manager and delete any unused or duplicate catalogs related to your store.
After cleanup, try reconnecting in Shopify.

3. Use a Clean Browser EnvironmentClear all browser cache and cookies or use a fresh incognito/private window.

Try different browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) and devices to rule out browser-specific issues.
Disable any ad blockers or browser extensions that might interfere with Facebook login flows.

4. Verify Facebook Business Manager SetupEnsure your Facebook Business Manager is fully set up, verified, and that you have admin access to the Facebook page you want to connect.

Confirm your Facebook account has the necessary permissions to manage the page and ad accounts.

5. Disconnect and Reinstall the Facebook Sales Channel in ShopifyRemove the Facebook sales channel completely from Shopify (Settings > Sales Channels > Remove Facebook).

Wait a few minutes, then reinstall it via Add sales channel.
Attempt the connection process again.

6. Log into Facebook with the Correct AccountLog out of all Facebook accounts on your browser.

Log in only with the Facebook account that has admin rights to your business page.
Then try connecting from Shopify again.

7. Check Shopify Store Country SettingsFacebook requires stores to be in supported countries for Facebook Shops and checkout integration.

Verify your Shopify store’s country under Settings > General matches a supported country.

8. Alternative: Manual Pixel and Catalog SetupIf the app connection continues to fail, consider manually adding your Facebook Pixel ID in Shopify’s Online Store > Preferences.

Manually create and manage your Facebook product catalog in Facebook Business Manager and link it to your page.
Use Facebook’s Commerce Manager to set up your shop manually as a fallback.

This issue is frustrating but usually resolved by carefully checking permissions, cleaning up old connections, and ensuring the right Facebook Business Manager setup. If after all these steps it still doesn’t work, consider reaching out to Shopify Experts or Meta Marketing Partners who specialize in Facebook-Shopify integrations.

If nothing is working with the free google and youtube app, I recommend using the multifeed app: https://apps.shopify.com/multiple-google-shopping-feeds

It is paid, but it’s a lot better than the free app. Has more functionality.

Biancai27 did you ever resolve this? Currently experiencing this and we can’t possibly be the only ones.

Solved this. Go to your facebook shopping app and head to the settings tab and hit Change on the share data section.

Toggle it off and it should reset and you will be able to connect your business page again.

That’s what solved it for our shop at least.
