I’m trying to create a URL redirect for some of my blog posts by having the blank Shopify blog post redirect automatically to the website where the blog was written. I tried creating a redirect for this, but every time I click “Save” after finishing the URL redirect, I then go back to the list of re-directs and it is not there.
Will some links not work for redirects, or does anyone know why it would not show up (and not work) after creating one and clicking save? What are the constraints?
What are you adding into the fields for the redirect? Knowing that would help members do some sanity checks in their own shops.
You don’t have apps in place that are managing your redirects or anything like that?
Sidenote: even if a blog post is blank a redirect won’t fire. The page on Shopify would need to 404 before the redirect would trigger. Don’t focus too much on this part though as it sounds like you can’t even save the redirect in the first place.
My goal here is just to create images on my homepage that are linked to a different website (so the images are “buttons” that direct you to an outside site). Do you happen to know how I could do this?
I tried using the “Custom Content” option on the home page and then did “HTML” and entered code to create buttons. However, I would like an option where there are linked images with captions on the page.
