today, I wanted to intall an App, which only offers a 14-day-free Trial.
My store is a Development Store. It looks like I can install the App on my Development Shop, but
I can not use it. Seems like I have to switch from Development Store to a Paid Plan first.
If this is the case, then I do not know how to continue / proceed because we are not finished developing
the Shop. Our plan was to hand over the Shop to the client at the end. The client then should choose a Shopify paid plan and he should then activate the apps (choose a paid plan for the Apps, too) …
Thank you for reaching out about this! You are correct that some apps are not available for development stores. This is something that an app developer can choose when listing their apps on the app store. You may be able to contact the app dev and ask for permission to access the app, but the decision will lie solely with them.
To help you as you build your customer’s store we have a list of partner friendly apps that can be installed and used on development stores. I will share the link to our Help Center Document on this and our list of partner friendly apps on the app store itself.
If there are certain things you need to be able to test then you can let the merchant know of that restriction and can ask to be added back on as a collaborator account once the plan is chosen. You can learn more about collaborator accounts HERE.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our partner community channels if you need additional help.
