Using AI for running my business

Hi guys,

My product is doing a revenue of few thousands monthly and I am looking for a AI product which can completely run my digital operations especially the monotonous day to day tasks.

  • What are people here using?
  • Has anyone tried any new AI product that they would like to recommend?

I tried Claude and Chatgpt, even though I managed to connect with the apps but I have to keep asking it questions. If I donot ask it wouldn’t tell.

Let’s learn and grow together in this new AI world.

A Ai product totally depends on the tasks that need to be automate. Without a proper explanation of tasks that need to be automate, it would be difficult to let you know the best Ai tool.

On the Shopify app store, there are multiple automation tools that can help with daily tasks. If you can share the list of all tasks that need to be automated then it would be highly appriciated and I can respond you accordingly.

Thanks

What exactly the operation you need to automate?

The “if I don’t ask, it won’t tell” part is the real ceiling. Claude and ChatGPT are request-response by design, so they sit there until you prompt them. They don’t run anything on their own, which is exactly the gap you’re feeling.

What changes it is putting the model behind a trigger instead of a chat box. Shopify Flow or a plain webhook fires on an event (a new order, low stock, a refund) and that calls the AI with the context already attached, then it does the task or drafts it for you. The model stops being a thing you visit and becomes something that reacts.

Practical start: pick the one boring task you repeat every day, wire that single trigger, get it reliable, then add the next one. Trying to make it “run everything” at once is where most people stall out. What’s the task eating the most of your time right now?

The part that gets messy is when the AI task depends on order context that isn’t all in one place. Shopify might show the order, but the reason it needs review is in a tag, a staff note, a Flow action, or an old customer message, so the AI still needs someone to piece the trail together.

ChatGPT and Claude are useful for planning and creating automations, but they are usually reactive: they respond when you ask them something. I would not rely on an AI assistant to autonomously run a store without clearly defined rules and review points.

For repetitive operations, I would start by listing the tasks that happen daily or weekly, then separate them into:

  • tasks triggered by a store event, such as a paid order or inventory update

  • scheduled checks, such as low-stock reports or stale-order follow-ups

  • tasks that need human approval before making a change

AI can help create the workflow logic, but the recurring execution should be handled by an automation system with logs, retries, and alerts.

Which tasks are consuming the most time in your store today?

Hi @Ish.entrepreneur
If you want to automate routine store activities, consider workflow automation instead of just a general chatbot. Commerce merchants use a combination of Shopify Flow for Store events, Automation platforms for cross app tasks and Reporting tools for visibility on Exceptions.

An effective way to start is to look for repetitive tasks, such as keeping inventory up to date, tagging orders, segmenting customers, or sending notifications to suppliers, and then automating those processes one at a time. This generally results in better outcomes than trying to have a single application manage the entire business from start to finish.

Hi @Ish.entrepreneur,

I can understand your frustration. Tools like ChatGPT are great, but they just sit there waiting for your instructions. When you run a busy store, you need apps that work in the background without you asking. For technical tasks and SEO, many store owners use SearchPie: SEO, Speed & Schema. It has an “Autopilot” feature that automatically fixes broken links, adds missing image tags, and pushes Google to index new pages. It finds the problems and handles them while you sleep.

For your daily store operations, you must rely on systems that run on their own. Use Klaviyo to automate your customer emails, and connect tools like AutoDS or Zendrop to sync your inventory and fulfill orders. Once you set the rules, they run forever. Just remember one thing: AI is fast, but it is not perfect. Always do a quick human check before saving mass changes to make sure everything looks right for your brand.

Hope this helps,

The honest answer: there’s no single AI that runs your whole operation yet, and the ones that claim to mostly disappoint. What works is stacking narrow agents that each own one repetitive task and run on their own without you prompting them, which is exactly the gap you hit with Claude and ChatGPT. Great on demand, but they wait for you to ask.

So pick your highest-volume monotonous task and automate that one first. For us it was order entry: our app, LevelOps PDF to Order, watches the inbox and turns incoming POs, PDFs, and spreadsheets into Shopify draft orders automatically, no prompt needed. If order processing is one of your time sinks, that’s the kind of “acts without being asked” tool you’re describing. (Disclosure: I’m the founder.)

I think the main limitation with ChatGPT/Claude for this use case is that they still need prompting.

For Shopify, the bigger opportunity feels like AI that works more like a background operator, monitoring store data, spotting patterns, and then suggesting what to do next.

Things like:

  • which products are often bought together

  • which offers or bundles are not performing

  • when an A/B test has enough data

  • when to stop or change an upsell

  • what could improve AOV based on actual order behavior

I’ve been exploring this problem myself recently, especially around AI recommendations and monitoring for offers/A/B tests. Curious if anyone here has found tools that are actually proactive instead of just answering questions when asked.

Hey, you’ve put your finger on the exact limitation of raw Claude/ChatGPT connectors: they’re reactive.

They’ll answer brilliantly, but only when you ask. Nothing surfaces on its own.

That’s actually why I built Ask AI Data Connector (ask-ai-data-connector.co.uk). It started as a way to connect Shopify, Klaviyo, GA4, Xero and 20+ other tools to Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini in one shot, so you’re not wiring up each app yourself. But the part that solves your specific problem is the proactive side:

- A monthly recap email that lands in your inbox automatically: biggest improvement, biggest regression, and the one action that matters, pulled from everything you’ve connected. You don’t ask, it just shows up.

- An insights view where the AI analyses your whole business and writes you a prioritised action plan to tick off, instead of waiting for questions.

- Anomaly flags, so you hear about the thing that broke before you’d have thought to check.
