We have a Shopify store for selling pre-owned luxury watches which works very well for us. We are creating another Shopify site for watch repairs and services. This sight will not have any products, just an intake form to create a service request.
We would like to create quotes with draft orders and then when the customer approves the estimate, then create an actual order for the service. Sometimes the estimate will have to be adjusted back and forth with the customer. The problem is that in draft orders it is not allowing me to change the price of the quote.
Can someone suggest a better way or an app to achieve what we are looking to do?

For some additional context, you can edit a draft order as long as you do not mark it as paid, mark it as pending, or pay for it using a customerâs billing information. For example, you can create a draft order, along with an invoice and leave the draft order open. You can enter the customerâs information so that you can find the draft order quickly to make adjustments. If you need to add a custom price, you can use the âadd a custom itemâ option. When you hear back from the customer, you can make changes to the draft order and resend the invoice as seen here:
Once there is an agreed-on price, you can send the invoice again with a link to the checkout page. Your customer can use the link in the email to enter billing information, select a shipping method, and submit payment. When you accept payment for draft order, it becomes an order on the Orders page. At that point, you wouldnât be able to edit the order.

After installing the app, you can go to your draft order, click âMore actionsâ on the top right, select âEdit custom item infoâ.
And then you can click âEdit priceâ, to edit the price of the custom item, and click âApply changes to current draftâ to save the new price of the estimate.
