Using Inventory from one store in another

Hi,

I’m a retailer in Devonport, Tasmania (Australia) and have an online store which is linked to my POS system (Tower Retailer). Unfortunately this link can only be made to one Shopify store due to limitations in its current design.

I want to create an alternative online store, with a different domain address, to enable me to better target products to different markets.

What I would like to do is maintain the current link to my primary Shopify store and then use that store as the source for my new Shopify store. Is this possible through Shopify, or is there an app i can use?

Look forward to hearing any advice or feedback from anyone else who’s achieved this.

Many thanks

Rod

Hi there,

you have different options here:

Using a PIM is at some point recommended because it is always the cleaner solution to have one leading system.

When it comes to your question - the easiest and quickest solution is to install this app above (Multi Store Inventory Synch)

Then you set your main store to the one which has the connection to the POS and the secondary the new store which will pull all changes coming from this store and will also update if a sale was made in the new store.

You would of course need to install the app in both stores. Also the SKU and EAN needs to be the same in both systems of course in order to synch the stock.

That’s it, the stock will be kept in synch and you should be good.

Cheers,

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your reply. I’ve taken a look at the Akeneo PIM you linked, and while open source there’s a $299 ‘connector’ app fee to link it to Shopify. I might leave that one for the moment as im just dipping a toe into the multi-store environment.

Really appreciate your response though

Hey!

Why dont you try a more affordable option like Gepard, or Apimio.

I personally like apimio for their easy to use navigation.

Hello @RodWaterfront ,

You can set up a second Shopify store and automatically sync inventory and prices in real time to your source store via Leap Multi Store Sync. The set-up is a quick one-time process, and prices and order quantities of selected products are then automatically synced in real-time between your new store and the original source store. You can also auto-create new products, so that every time a new product is created in the source store, it is also reflected in your second store.

The app also lets you automatically set up order forwarding for your products, so that every time a customer places an order on your Shopify store, it is automatically sent to your source store as well.

Hope this helps! Please drop an email to support@leapinventory.com for any questions or help regarding the set-up and we’ll help you get up and running in no time.
