so I think I have a slightly different case, I ONLY USE THE BUY BUTTON, that I embed in my third party domain / wordpress.
If I follow your instruction and connect my domain with shopify, traffic will be forwarded to the storefront, which I dont want.

(and i am using a WP shopify buy button because if I use the code from shopify, i can only use it once on the page, otherwise it displays the buy button twice - another problem i haven’t found an answer to here in the community):
