So i keep having an issue where the Shopify action bar is locked on the bottom of the screen when in apps such as ninja pod. It will not allow me to click anything on the bottom such as checkout or template. How do i fix this. Again its on the iphone using the app.
It sounds like an iPhone/Shopify app UI issue rather than something specific to your store or Ninja POD.
A few things I’d try first:
- Force close the Shopify app and reopen it.
- Update Shopify and Ninja POD from the App Store.
- Restart your iPhone.
- If it still happens, try switching between portrait and landscape mode—sometimes the fixed Shopify action bar doesn’t reposition correctly.
- If the issue only happens inside Ninja POD, check whether Ninja POD has an update or contact their support, as the app may not be handling Shopify’s mobile interface correctly.
If the bar is consistently covering the same buttons after all of that, I’d report it to Shopify Support with a screen recording. That will help them determine whether it’s a Shopify iOS bug or an issue with the embedded Ninja POD app.
It is sadly an existing issue and there is no way to “update” an app from the Shopify App Store (referring to the reply above). You can try updating the Shopify app as mentioned, if that doesn’t work then I heavily recommend using Safari to access shopify admin directly.
I’ve experienced the same issue with me being unable to use a given app’s livechat when needing help ![]()
Hello @Capelifeco, that overlap is usually the embedded app rendering inside the Shopify iOS app’s own webview, and the app’s fixed bottom bar sits on top of it. Quickest workaround: tap the three dots in Ninja POD’s header and open it in Safari instead of the in-app view, or just go to your admin in mobile Safari directly - the bar issue disappears outside the Shopify app’s wrapper.
Hi there @Capelifeco
This seems more like an issue with the layout or viewport on iPhone rather than something related to your store. Close the Shopify app completely, restart the iPhone, then update the Shopify app and iOS if there are updates. If it continues, go back to Standard in iPhone display zoom and open the app once more. Run also the same flow from Safari to see if the problem is isolated to the Shopify mobile app. If you have one, the screen shot of the locked action bar would be helpful in determining the exact UI conflict.
