Using Shopify Order Printer to print from Shopify POS

I would like to use Shopify Order Printer to print to a regular printer from POS. The app says that it works with POS and It seems to work until you attempt to print anything.

We have a retail store and for items that are being picked up at a later time we prefer to print a copy of the order for the warehouse team to use to pick/track that merchandise. I know you can print from the desktop for this, but I would prefer it to be seamless process where the sales person can print right from the POS and put the paperwork in the pick up bin for the warehouse team.

So far the shopify help team has not given us an answer as to why it does not work.

At this point I just need to know if it is possible to use this App to print from POS or not. If not we can move on to another solution.

I have confirmed that the IPAD is able to print to a regular printer from other apps

We are using 9th gen Ipads.

Hi Trove-1, I am experiencing the same issue. A few weeks ago we were able to print our job cards for jobs of customers that we are taking in for repairs right out of Order Printer while the customer was in front of our associate. Order Printer used to kick the order into whatever default web browser users were using and now it does not move the job to a browser for printing. I have contacted Shopify and I was told “I definitely understand the importance of having this resolved. At this time, this is an issue that our developers are investigating that is impacting many Shopify stores. This is not isolated to just your store in this case. Please rest assured that I am actively monitoring the investigation, and we will follow up with you once there is a resolution.”

We have had a similar response from Shopify. Multiple contacts have been initiated, but no one seems to have a clue. I even had to screenshot the app page to show them where it states that it is supposed to work with POS. So far I have just gotten copy and paste suggestions in the vein of " Restart your device, reinstall the app, etc…"
