Hi there,
I’m asking for guidance one final time. My website is almost finished but I have two issues coming up with my variants.
I have 2 variants that affect the cost of the item and I have added those using shopify variants. All the other options have been coded in in the theme editor using I site I found that makes code for things like dropdowns.
The two shopify variants have some issues.
-
the variants are frame type and frame size and not all the frames are available in all the sizes so I have deleted the ones that aren’t possible. But they still show up in the list and I want them to be hidden.
-
The order the sizes seem to be in are controlled by what order I have the frame type in. The result is that the size options aren’t in order.
I have tried to research and fix this and ended up speaking to shopify experts in India via people per hour. One has told me my site is a mess and needs to be remade and he can’t sort it. I am not a web developer, but these two issues don’t seem to warrant scraping all the hours I’ve spent building this.
Any advice? Thank you

this is a product showing the issues mentioned. It’s the top two variants.
Thank you
Hi there, absolutely no need to redo everything you’ve done.
For your second problem – no, the values in each option should be sorted in the same way you did in your admin when you’ve ordered option values:
For your first problem I’ve drafted a little code. Go to “online store” => Customize, go to product page template and add a “Custom liquid” section.
Paste the code below. It seems to be working, probably not the fastest, but does not require theme code edits.
I did not test it extensively – say, no idea what will happen if there are 3 options or all variants are sold, so let me know if there are any hiccups.
Thanks for your reply. I paid someone to solve the first issue. The second issue is still there though i.e. the order of the sizes is dictated by the order of the first variant. The developer I hired said it’s not an easy fix so I am leaving it unless anyone has any suggestions. Thanks again
