I’m looking to widen the container for the header/global navigation. I want to add another menu item to my global nav, but when I do it automatically goes to a hamburger menu. I figured expanding it by about 25px on each side should help.

I hid a block that served no useful function but took up space. And I removed the “seven-eighths” class, which made the maximum width of the menu items block equal to 87.5 percent of the site width.
