I am an affiliate partner with Shopify and work with 2 partners via the shopify platform. Today when payment to me is due, I get an email asking me to verify my ID, etc. I am a UK National and live in Hungary and previously, when I t=registered, if I put down Nationality / Residence (which is one choice) it put me down as resident in UK. So I put in Hungary. Now it has asked me to verify all info and I have given my passport as ID and in the second drop down menu for proof of address, it doesn’t have the ID / Address Card option…only official govt. letter. In Hungary, an official Address Card is issued to all residents and is proof of address. So I added that in under ‘official govt. letter’ you can see my name / dob/ address on it, but the rest is in Hungarian obviously - so not sure how they will check it or just reject it…very unhappy that they do this on date of payment. No online verification either - just that it will take a few business days…
