Very Confused - Do Functions work in public apps for any store plan or not?

Hey Functions Teams,

I’m feeling very confused. We were so excited to see that all Shopify Functions are compatible with any Shopify store when using a public app. This is clearly spelled out on the main Functions overview page at https://shopify.dev/docs/api/functions

We just finished some major work using Functions, only to find that the UpdateOperation is not working. Hidden deep in the documentation is a mention that this is only available for Plus stores.

Is this real? I can’t imagine that the overview would not mention any caveats. We’ve spent months working on some really great functionality.

Please help with some clarification - this would be a huge hit for our app.

Hi @givy –

Sorry for the confusion here. We have an increasing amount of functionality in Function APIs which is Plus-only. We’ve made some recent updates to our documentation to better clarify the plan restrictions.

Thanks @Nick_Wesselman - disappointed we can’t use this functionality for all merchants, but appreciate the updated docs.
