Looking for a Shopify Ecosystem Partnership — VyapaariDirect

Hi Shopify Community :waving_hand:

I’m Pradyun, the founder of VyapaariDirect, a B2B business-discovery platform built around a simple idea:

Businesses should be able to discover and connect with other businesses directly, without unnecessary middlemen.

We’re currently building our network of businesses and are looking for feedback from Shopify merchants, Partners, and people involved in the Shopify ecosystem.

What we’re building

VyapaariDirect allows businesses to discover:

  • Suppliers

  • Manufacturers

  • Vendors

  • Service providers

  • Other businesses

The goal is simple:

Business → discover relevant business → connect directly.

We don’t want to unnecessarily sit between the buyer and vendor or take a cut of their transaction.

Why I’m posting this here

I see a potentially interesting overlap between Shopify and VyapaariDirect.

Shopify helps businesses establish and operate their online commerce presence.

VyapaariDirect focuses on helping businesses discover and connect with other businesses.

For example:

VyapaariDirect → Shopify

A business discovered through VyapaariDirect may be looking to start selling online or expand its e-commerce presence. We could potentially refer interested businesses to Shopify through the appropriate Shopify Partner/referral mechanisms.

Shopify merchants → VyapaariDirect

Shopify merchants may also need manufacturers, suppliers, packaging providers, logistics companies and other B2B businesses.

VyapaariDirect could potentially help with that discovery.

What I’d like to explore

Rather than asking for a large formal partnership immediately, I’d like to explore whether a small pilot could make sense.

For example:

30–90 day pilot

  • VyapaariDirect onboards businesses

  • Qualified businesses interested in e-commerce can be referred toward Shopify through appropriate channels

  • Relevant Shopify merchants can discover VyapaariDirect

  • Both sides measure the results

  • If it works, we explore a larger partnership

I’m not asking for Shopify’s private merchant/customer contact information. Any referrals or information sharing would be through appropriate consent-based mechanisms.

I’m looking for feedback

I’d particularly love to hear from:

  • Shopify merchants

  • Shopify Partners

  • Shopify app developers

  • E-commerce consultants

  • People familiar with Shopify’s partner ecosystem

Does this seem like a genuinely useful ecosystem partnership, or am I missing something?

I’d much rather get honest criticism now than build the wrong thing for six months.

I’m currently looking to validate the idea and connect with people who think this could create value for both ecosystems.

Hi Pradyun, thanks for sharing this. I took a quick look at the site.

The concept is interesting there’s definitely a gap in helping Shopify merchants find reliable B2B suppliers and partners without spending hours on Google or dealing with middlemen.

A few honest questions and thoughts:

On the referral model: How are you planning to identify which businesses discovered through VyapaariDirect are a good fit for Shopify? Are you looking at specific signals (e.g., type of business, size, readiness)?

On quality control: One challenge B2B directories face is keeping the listings high-quality and preventing spam or low-quality vendors. How are you thinking about verifying businesses before they’re listed?

On the Shopify side: Are you planning to apply as a Shopify Partner? That would give you a formal referral path and potentially access to the Partner Dashboard. Without that, referrals might feel informal.

One thought: if you could integrate with Shopify in a way that helps merchants discover suppliers directly from their admin (through an app or integration), that would feel more seamless than having merchants go to a separate site.

Curious what’s your current validation approach? Have you tested this with any merchants yet?"

Hi @vyapaari Welcome To Shopify Community So This Is An Interesting concept, but a few things worth thinking through before pitching this as a Shopify partnership specifically. Shopify already has its own App Store and Partner Program for exactly this kind of business-discovery and referral relationship, so any formal tie-in would need to go through those existing channels rather than a direct pilot arrangement — that’s usually the first blocker people run into with ideas like this. The bigger question is validation on the VyapaariDirect side first. Before Shopify (or any platform) would take a referral partnership seriously, you’d typically need to show real traction — actual businesses using the platform, some completed connections, maybe a few case studies. Right now it reads more like a pre-launch pitch than something ready for a pilot. If the goal is just to get in front of Shopify merchants who need suppliers or manufacturers, you might get more organic traction by engaging directly in relevant community threads where merchants are already asking for vendor recommendations, rather than a top-down partnership ask.
Hope this helps, and good luck with VyapaariDirect!
