the domain name appears available on shopify itself and on other websites, but when im about to buy the domain inside shopify it gives me that error, what should i do?
@jlorvx This usually happens because Shopify’s domain provider hasn’t refreshed availability yet, or the domain was recently searched/reserved elsewhere.
Try waiting 10–30 minutes and retry, or clear your browser cache / use an incognito window.
If it still shows an error, you can safely buy the domain from another provider and connect it to Shopify it works the same.

Just a piece of advice: don’t buy a domain from Shopify. You should get it from someone else like GoDaddy, Squarespace, or Ionos. If Shopify shuts your store down, or if you are unable to log in, or some other issue, you need control over your domain.
@jlorvx That’s normal behavior on Shopify.
The domain can show as available at first, but during checkout Shopify does a final check and sees it’s already connected to another Shopify store, so it blocks the purchase.
This usually doesn’t mean the domain is taken publicly just locked inside Shopify.
If you owned it on another store before, removing it there fixes it.
If not, buying it from an external registrar and connecting it to Shopify works perfectly.
